Dr. Mian Ahmad Jan is the co-founder of the AWKUM AI lab. He is working as an assistant professor at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Pakistan and an adjunct professor at Northwestern Polytechnical University, China and Yunnan Normal University, China. He received his PhD in Computer Systems from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia and Masters in Mobile Computing from University of Bradford, UK. He had been the recipient of various prestigious scholarships during his PhD. He was the recipient of International Research Scholarship (IRS) at the UTS, Australia, Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) scholarships and Overseas Faculty development Scholarship, among others. He has been awarded HDR publication award for the year 2014 at UTS, Australia. His research focuses on Cyber Security and Energy-efficient communication for Internet of Things, Wireless Sensor Networks, and Internet of Vehicles. His research has been published in prestigious venues such as IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Journal of Selected Areas of Communications, and ACM Computing Surveys are few to mention. Also, he has published in high ranked conferences such as IEEE TrustCom, IEEE HPCC etc. He has been general General Chair/Co-chair/session chair of various International conferences and has edited two books. He has been guest editor of numerous special issues in various prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Industrial Information, Elsevier Future Generation Computer Systems, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Healthcare Engineering (JBHI), Springer Mobile Networks and Applications (MONET), Springer Neural computing and Applications (NCAA), Digital Communications and Networks, and Springer Annals of Telecommunications are few to mention. He has been identified as among Top 2 percent of scientists of the world by Stanford University for the year 2021.
